3rd - 5th Program
(Youth who have completed grades 3-5)

  • Designed to meet the specific needs of upper elementary school students, the 3rd through 5th grade crew will do art projects, play games, and embark on a scavenger hunt. Our fast paced and interactive activities will provide opportunities to talk about gender and identity, allowing children to meet others with similar experiences and to participate at their own comfort level. This unique and engaging camp is designed to be a safe space for exploration and curiosity, while wearing out even the most energetic kids!

  • Adventures abound at K-2 kids camp! We'll organize ourselves into home groups, play in small and large groups, create imaginary worlds, and explore the campus while making friends and creating tools for self expression and understanding along the way.
  • Bring a water bottle, comfortable shoes, and get ready to explore! Also, please be sure to apply ample amounts of sunscreen to your camper each morning before camp begins and at the end of lunch.

CONFERENCE SUPPORT CENTERS
Once more, we are excited to provide Conference Support Center services in a variety of areas: legal, spiritual care, medical, and mental health. This service allows for more personalized conversations with professionals and is designed to allow attendees to raise specific issues related to their family or context in a more private setting than workshop sessions allow.

This wonderful resource can be accessed in two ways: sign up in advance by emailing supportcenters@genderspectrum.org. In your email, please indicate the support center for you wish to make an appointment (medical, counseling, legal or faith-based). Once the conference begins, you can also come to the Info Center and signing up for one of the appointment slots. We encourage you to make appointments ahead of time for the limited slots. Once you make your appointment, come by the Info Center and conference staff will provide specific information for accessing the center.

Support Centers are located in Filippi Academic Hall - FAH; please be careful not to confuse FAH with another building on campus called Filippi Administrative Building!

DROP-IN IDENTITY DOCUMENTS CLINIC
(Located in Filippi Academic Hall - FAH)

Meet with legal staff from the Transgender Law Center to discuss specific questions, fill out paperwork, or otherwise explore the process for aligning your child’s gender identity with various identity documents (Identity Cards, Driver’s Licenses, Passports, Birth Certificates, etc.). The clinic will be open 12:00pm - 5:30pm Saturday and 9:00am - 4:30pm Sunday.

GENDER SPECTRUM ART STUDIO
(Located in Brother Cornelius Art Center)

Our facilitated open art studio environment is designed to make room for your creative expression during this weekend of learning, community building and resource gathering.  The non-judgmental, encouraging and process oriented space will provide a place that values your spontaneous, creative self-expression and is for both the artist and the not-so-artist- child, teen, adult, and families alike!  All you need is curiosity and an open mind.  All materials will be provided.  The studio will be used throughout the weekend by our various Youth Programs, and is also available to any adults and families who are inspired to stretch their creative muscles as well or simply looking for some artistic relief. We hope you will consider dropping in the Art Studio Saturday (10:00am - 12:00pm & 1:00pm - 4:00pm) and Sunday (9:30am - 12:00pm & 1:00pm - 4:00pm) for some self care or to connect, create, and decompress!
